There are many columnists penning their words about Comrades, Bruce Fordyce is arguably the most revered. His column with the Citizen has been excellent, and his last contains a very important bit of advice: Drive the course the day before.
I highly recommend, if you haven’t read them before, to go and have read of his previous columns:
- The most prolific Comrades runner of all
- When is it too late to start training for the Comrades?
- How to decide which is the world’s toughest marathon?
- There’s nothing wrong with big, strong calves
- Easter brings ultra-marathon season
- The hills are alive with the sound of training
- Comrades training now determines success or failure
- Bullet remembered as Comrades calls
- Comrades junkies start training again
