A bit late, but here goes:
October was a good month, my best so far in terms of mileage, which is good. Here are the stats:
- 219 Km run in October at an average of 12.2 km per run
- Total running time of 17:26 hours at an average of 58 minutes per run
- Average pace: 4:47 min/km
- Average HR: 152
Thinking back on the month, I was glad to be doing the long runs, only skipping one Sunday, as I ran the Tokai Forest 15km on the Saturday. Therefore I was only 20 odd kilometers off my goal for the month, which isn’t too bad. I didn’t do enough speed work though, and this is a worry. I did a 5km time trial last Wednesday, and I struggled through to a 18:32, which is not a bad time, but way off my PB (18:08), and I could feel I had the stamina, just not the speed in the last km.
So November, I’ve chucked out the old program, and got a new one. A proper one. One made for me. It will take me all the way to Comrades with Two Oceans in between. More of the new program in my next a forthcoming post.
