Great Week of Training
Uncategorized
This last week, from Monday to Sunday (25/09 – 01/10) was a great week of training. Here are the stats:
- Tuesday: 8km – 35:13 (A bit stiff after Gun Run, but eased up after 3km)
- Wednesday: 5km Time Trial – 23:14 (Had a sore throat, HR was higher than normal, so I took it easier, and tried pushing a fellow runner)
- Thursday: 8km – 37:11 (Run along Tafelberg rd, which runs on Table Mountain. Beautiful evening, great run, the definition of a perfect run)
- Friday: 10km – 47:08 (Ran on the Sea Point blvd, was a foggy morning, and managed to be underneath the fog horn when it off. That woke me up)
- Saturday: 10km – 59:53 (Milnerton beach. Soft sand, but very slow. Awesome work on the legs.)
- Sunday: 21km – 1:45:56 (Amazing long run, from Tamboerskloof and around Lions Head and back, watch this space for a post on it.)
Total Stats: 5 hrs, 8 min of running – 62.3km at an average of 4:57 min/km while burning 4366kcal. Looking back now, I should have run the time trial much much faster, but didn’t want to take a risk. Still, I’m happy to get in the kays. My confidence is up, and I’m ready to tackle whatever the Don throws at me… whenever they announce it.
