Spring is here
Gone are the days of cold, wet and dark runs, Spring is here!
I just got back from my first official Spring run, and what a spectacular day it is. I ran a route that I haven’t run in a while, and I was quickly reminded why… the first 3km are all trail with lots of climbing. In total, I ascended 250m. The backdrop of Table Mountain did ease the pain however.
So far, it’s been a successful week of training, wait make that fantastic. I’m starting to enjoy my time trial’s more and more, as I keep improving my times. Any runner will agree, achieving a PB has to be one of the strongest forms of motivation possibe. After I claimed last week that me being lazy and resting allowed me to run a great 8km time trial, I’m going to have to take that all back. I clearly wasn’t running at my full potential, as I managed to knock 30 seconds off last week’s time, and ran a 31:11! My goal now is to break the 30 minute barrier before the end of the year.
